About OCU

History

Founded in 1964 as a privately-funded college in central Taiwan, Overseas Chinese University (OCU) is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and community services. OCU has a proud tradition of providing educational opportunities for intellectual and emotional growth in a broad range of disciplines and professional fields.

Through integrating the latest technology, the university strives to create a stimulating environment in which students, faculty, and staff can develop their interests, skills, and talents to the fullest extent.

Vision and Mission

Promoting and developing service  science & technology, to build up OCU an excellent university in Taiwan. Our mission aims at nurturing talents with expertise, ethics, and employability, and for them to serve the nation and our society.

Specialty

Diverse extracurricular activities are offered, through which interpersonal communication and cooperation skills can be cultivated as a complement to sound study skills and preparation for lifelong learning. As an aid for their later career, students are required to master basic computer skills and be proficient in at least one foreign language, especially English. 

Accreditation

OCU is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China, and offers both bachelor and associate degrees in Accounting & Information, Applied Chinese, Applied English, Banking and Risk Management, Business Administration, Food and Beverage Management, Tourism & Recreation Management, Hotel and MICE Management, Finance, Financial & Economic Law, Industrial Engineering & Management, Information Management, Information Technology, International Trade, Marketing & Supply Chain Management, Multimedia and Game Design, and Innovative Living Design. Master degree programs are offered in Management, Information Technology, and the Global Logistics Management Extended Education Class. 

Faculty and Student

The faculty consists of more than 240 full-time and 210 part-time professionals. The size of student body is about 10,000 and is divided over 200 day and night classes.
